Marion H. Blakely Christian Academy is a private school designed to meet the needs of students in grades 7 through 12, and provides an opportunity for higher education. The perspective of Marion H. Blakely Christian Academy is that some children necessitate unconventional resolutions for unique circumstances. Challenging academic curriculum and programs are offered through prescription learning programs. All classes are online, and all instructive curricula are developed to meet the requirements of the State Board of Education. Our core curriculum is signified by special attention to the diverse learning styles of students. We are national, and our courses comply with the individual requirements of states, to meet student needs. The Academy is greatly dedicated to holistic education – we address students’ needs emotionally, spiritually, and socially as well as educationally.“Holistic education is based on the premise that each person finds identity, meaning, and purpose in life through connections to the community, to the natural world, and to spiritual values such as compassion and peace. Holistic education aims to call forth from people an intrinsic reverence for life and a passionate love of learning.” (From A brief introduction to holistic education; Ron Miller). We have been incredibly successful employing art as therapy.Marion H. Blakely is authorized via Illinois School Code Authorization 105 ILCS 5/26-1 et seq.: The Illinois Supreme Court held in 1950 that "private school" includes home-schooling if the teacher is competent, the required subjects are taught, and the student receives an education at least equivalent to public school.
